One of the targets that UN are aiming to achieve is to end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls worldwide. Currently women with disabilities are often subjected to double discrimitation due to their gender and disability status. Compared to men with disabilities, women are more likely to have un-addressed health care and are more likely to be unemployed. With this website I am building awareness on this SDG Goal and in my own little way to support the UN to meet their targets by 2030.
Since its creation 70 years ago, the UN has achieved important results in advancing gender equality, from the establishment of the Commission on the Status of Women - the main global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women - through the adoption of various landmark agreements such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
