This course introduces learners to development of App for smartphones on their own. It involves grasping the concepts of coding and by taking one step at a time work towards the creation of an App that works on smartphones efficiently.
In this course, they will learn how to build mobile applications with graphical user interface (GUI) applications similar to the Scratch programming, which allows users to drag and drop visual objects to create applications that can run on Android and IOS devices. Key learning outcomes includes: Programming statements: input, If/else, random and intersect, Variables: using variables to store data, Basic design: inserting media files (video, audio and image) into the app.
At the end of this course, students will have learnt the basics of coding Apps and games for smartphones. They will design and develop a unique fully functional app for both Android and iOS from scratch and apply different animation techniques to make the app stand out and truly come to life. The developed applications will be ready for publishing to Google Play store, Apple store, Microsoft store (users can sell the app, etc.). They will have learnt how to become creators of technology rather than just consumers of it.
